This is a quick tip for anyone who wants a non complex answer to how to tidy up and maintain a decluttered & organized space. All it requires from you is dedication for a short period of time.

Set aside 10 minutes every week night night to tidy up and clean.

That’s it.

Set a timer and tidy up and clean until the timer goes off. You’ll be quite shocked at how much you can get done in that time, like:

  • cleaning the toilet
  • wiping down the counter and sink
  • picking up dirty clothes from the floor and placing them in the hamper
  • emptying the dishwasher
  • removing cups and dishes from various room and into the kitchen

10 minutes is the STRICT LIMIT.

If you’re a morning person then tweak this hack to suit yourself. Take 10 minutes in the morning to clean and tidy up, perhaps while you’re waiting for the coffee to be made or before you hit the showers.

Anything more intensive like vacuuming or mopping the floor or cleaning the entire bathroom can be done on weekends. However on weeknights take 10 minutes to quickly clean and tidy up and you’ll be pleasantly shocked at how clean your house is most of the time.

Try it for a week and tell us the results.
